The Low Country is the middle section of the Ards Peninsula of County Down, Northern Ireland - the most easterly point in Ireland. It is only 20 miles from Scotland, dotted with small farms and villages, halls and harbours. This is where the four of us grew up and still live. From Carrowdore to Kirkistown, our ancestors worked the fields and harbours here for at least 400 years, people who read their Burns and knew their Bibles. And from time to time, they got their fiddles out and enjoyed some music!
