Creativity at its best is not buried but nurtured and developed. One artist has turned this into a cycle and constantly nurtures and develops her talents. Whilst many artists may be multitalented, only a few take the time to really develop each talent. One such artist is Ebee.  The beautiful, down to earth and vibrant 22 year old is a singer, rapper, dancer, writer, poet and actress. Ebee began with dancing, singing and writing, she soon discovered her love for acting and for many years was unaware that she was a rapper. The Nigerian-born artist says she embraced rapping after much contemplation and fright, “I’m glad I didn’t discard rapping, it’s helped distinguish my song writing style”.  Ebee’s writing delivers accessible lyrics which is sometimes scarce in gospel music. This is evident on every track contributing to her debut gospel album, as Ebee communicates her heart effectively to her audience.
It was important to Ebee to follow her parent’s advice and achieve a university degree before fully answering her call to music. Nevertheless, Ebee kept on writing and performed whenever the opportunity arose. She completed her education and graduated a geneticist. When asked if there is any link between genetics and music, Ebee pointed out, “We all have a genetic makeup, so it’s universal, although unique to individuals. Well, music is a universal language no matter how unique the sound, besides music and genetics are both exciting”.
Immediately after graduating, Ebee began looking for a studio to record her first album. “I wanted only quality and a team that had faith and were ready to fly with me”. Thankfully, she was introduced to producer Efe Adre of rebounds tracks crew. Upon listening to a few of Ebee's songs, Andre was impressed and instinctively believed in her. They soon began working on the album which is titled Cross Over. Cross Over was completed within a period of 6 months. The creative process of Cross Over took the genius of rebound tracks crew at DH studio from production, post production to mixing. Their combined workmanship with Ebee explains the album’s lack of anything great, sporting a solid production unique to Ebee, a commercial sound, skilled writing ability by Ebee, to beautiful musical arrangements and more. Ebee’s sound is complemented and fleshed by her character. Although, her music on its own is exuberant, on stage she gives the audience a complete picture. Unmistakably delivering the message and revealing the characters behind each song. Ebee’s heartfelt vocals, entertainment and audience engagement leave each individual with an exceptional experience of what Ebee coined "the ebeesphere”.
Cross Over is not limited to a single genre, with records like the grimy “Gimme” in which Ebee displays a cocky and cheeky rap flow, the Rnb standout “Watch My God”, the Old School Saxophone flavored Ballad “I Demand” to the Hip hop anthem “Move Poof”. When asked about her distinctive, direct and unusual song titles, Ebee smiles “They are not quirky or strange to me, they just happen to be unusual to other people”.  Unexpectedly, there is the ravishing worship song, “Holy You Are”.
Cross Over not only showcases different vocal styles by Ebee and a varied production, it also features other talented artists; Remy Odumesi “GK real”, Revolution “Otavie Warman”, Saint “David Akrasi”, Esther Olaleye, Vincent, Tolu Ashiru and Yemi Asaolu.
Cross Over is sure to win Ebee music followers looking for a great message, an unmistakably excellent sound or the combination of both. Ebee is an artist in all aspects of the word. Her sound is timeless, her passion and devotion towards her music is flawless, and her creativity knows no bounds. Ebee is not an artist for the moment but for all seasons and generations, not surprising for someone who is inspired by the strengths of many greats. Ebee respects Beyonce’s work ethic and stage orchestration, the passion, drive and multifaceted nature of Ryan leslie, Mary Mary’s ability to grow and reinvent themselves as the times change to Ne-yo’s song writing amongst others. A combination of these strengths fashions Ebee. This comes as no surprise considering Ebee is making available solely great music, with life changing messages, truly inspired by God.
